Two prisoners secretly executed in Isfahan Central Prison

The death sentences of Mehdi Salehzadeh, a Gilak prisoner, and Abdollah Khademi, a Turk prisoner, were secretly carried out in Isfahan Central Prison. Their executions took place without prior notice or the opportunity for a final visists with their families.

According to a report received by Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, at dawn on Thursday, January 30, 2025, Mehdi Salehzadeh, 35, from Rasht, and Abdollah Khademi, 41, from Urmia and a resident of Tabriz, were executed in Central Prison in Isfahan. Khademi was a father of three children.

Sources report that these two prisoners had been arrested on separate drug-related charges and were later sentenced to death by the judiciary of Islamic Republic of Iran.

As of the time of this report, the execution of these two prisoners has not been announced by state media, particularly outlets affiliated with the judiciary.
