Seven prisoners executed across Iranian prisons

The death sentences of seven prisoners have been carried out in prisons across Gorgan, Rasht, Ardabil, Qom, and Yasuj. The men had previously been sentenced to death on charges of “premeditated murder” or drug-related offenses by Iran’s judiciary.

According to information received by the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, Hassan Khalili was executed at dawn on February 25, 2026, in Gorgan Central Prison. He had been arrested approximately two years ago on drug-related charges and subsequently sentenced to death.

In Rasht Central Prison (Lakan), two Gilak prisoners — Naqi Feyzi, 49, a father of three from Rasht, and Behnam Jahani, 27, from Lahijan — were executed at dawn on February 24, 2026. Feyzi had been on death row for around six years following a murder conviction, while Jahani had been sentenced to death approximately two years ago after being convicted of murder in connection with a physical altercation.

Earlier, at dawn on February 22, 2026, Mohammadjavad Masoumi, 26, a Turkish prisoner from Ardabil, was executed in Ardabil Central Prison. He had been arrested about three years ago on charges of premeditated murder following a street fight and later sentenced to death.

In Qom Central Prison, Mehrdad Qaeni, 30, from Malard in Tehran Province, was executed at dawn on February 21, 2026. He had been arrested less than two years ago on drug-related charges and sentenced to death.

In a separate case, two Lor prisoners from Kohgiluyeh and Boyer-Ahmad Province — Behzad Sheikhi, 28, and Mostafa Bahari, 39, a father of one child — were executed at dawn on February 7, 2026, in Yasuj Central Prison. Sheikhi had been sentenced to death approximately four years ago following a workplace altercation that led to a murder charge, while Bahari had been on death row for about two years on similar charges.

State media, particularly outlets affiliated with the judiciary, have not announced these executions.
