Prisoner dies due to lack of medical care in Dehdasht Central Prison

Abdollah Akbarifar, a Lor prisoner from Bahmai County, has died in Dehdasht Central Prison due to lack of medical care and the refusal of prison authorities to transfer him to a medical facility outside the prison.
According to a report received by the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, on Friday, February 7, 2025, Abdollah Akbarifar, 35, a resident of Bahmai County in Kohgiluyeh and Boyer-Ahmad Province, married and the father of two, lost his life in Dehdasht Prison as a result of medical neglect.
Sources report that Akbarifar suffered from diabetes and, throughout his detention, was denied medical leave to seek proper treatment outside the prison.
Akbarifar had been arrested a year ago on financial charges and transferred to Dehdasht Central Prison.
