Six Kurds arrested by security forces in Miandoab

At least six Kurds from Miandoab—Behzad Barjasteh, Keyvan Barjasteh, Shahab Tavan, Khaleq Rahimi, Nima Ghorbanzadeh, and Sediq Abbasnejad—have been arrested by Iran’s Intelligence Department forces.
According to reports received by the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, on the evening of Saturday, February 22, 2025, security forces from Urmia’s Intelligence Department raided Ebrahimabad village, a district of Miandoab, and arrested four people: Behzad Barjasteh, Keyvan Barjasteh, Shahab Tavan, and Nima Ghorbanzadeh.
Simultaneously, security forces also arrested Khaleq Rahimi, a resident of Gamishgoli village, and Sediq Abbasnejad, from Qaleh Helakukhan (Hosseinabad) village.
According to informed sources, Urmia and Miandoab Intelligence Department forces forcibly arrested these Kurds in their homes and subsequently transferred them to a detention center in Urmia.
So far, there is no confirmed information regarding the reasons for the arrests, the charges against them, or their current condition and whereabouts.
