Two prisoners executed in Sepidar Prison of Ahvaz

The death sentences of two prisoners, Jamil Roshadat and Zohair Shamsi—residents of Ahvaz and Dezful in Khuzestan Province, respectively—were carried out in Sepidar Prison in Ahvaz. Both had previously been convicted of premeditated murder by the judiciary.
According to reports received by the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, at dawn on Saturday, April 5, 2025, Zohair Shamsi, 32 years old and the father of one child, along with Jamil Roshadat, a 40-year-old Arab man, were executed in Sepidar Prison.
Sources familiar with the case confirmed that Zohair Shamsi had been in detention for four years and had been sentenced to death on murder charges. Jamil Roshadat had been in detention for three years and was also sentenced to death for the murder of a cousin.
As of the time of reporting, no official announcement regarding the executions has been made by state media or outlets affiliated with the judiciary.
