Tehran: Zhila Zehtab Moghaddam jailed to serve sentence

Zhila Zehtab Moghaddam, has been arrested and transferred to Evin Prison after being summoned to the Enforcement Office of the Evin Prosecutor’s Office to serve her one-year prison sentence.
According to a report received by the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, on Saturday, April 26, 2025, Zhila Zehtab Moghaddam, a 45-year-old resident of Tehran, was taken into custody after presenting herself to the Enforcement Office and was subsequently transferred to Evin Prison.
Previously, the Tehran Revolutionary Court had sentenced Zehtab Moghaddam to one year in prison on charges of “propaganda against the state” and “insulting Khamenei.” The charges stemmed from posts she had published on her X (formerly Twitter) account.
Last year, Zehtab Moghaddam was also arrested and, following an interrogation period, was transferred to the women’s ward of Evin Prison on October 9, 2024. She was later released on bail on November 9, 2024.
