Hengaw – Monday, May 26, 2025
The death sentences of six prisoners — including two Baloches, one Lor, and an Afghan national — were carried out in the central prisons of Zahedan, Qom, and Borujerd. The men executed were identified as Zabihollah Sarani, Vahid Karimizadeh, Farhad Farahnak, Alireza Rezaei, Mobarak Rahmani, and Hessam Farhadi. They had previously been convicted of either premeditated murder or drug-related offenses.
According to information received by the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, at dawn on Monday, May 26, 2025, the execution of Sarani, a 29-year-old Baloch prisoner from Zabol, was carried out at Zahedan Central Prison. He had been arrested four years ago on charges of premeditated murder and was later sentenced to death.
Earlier, on Sunday morning, May 25, Rezaei, 27, from Qom, and Rahmani, 25, an Afghan national, were executed at Qom Central Prison. Rahmani had been in prison for three years, and Rezaei for six years — both convicted of murder.
On Saturday morning, May 24, three additional executions were carried out: Karimizadeh, 35, from Eslamshahr, and Farahnak, 25, from Qom, were executed at Qom Central Prison, while Farhadi, a prisoner from Borujerd, was executed at Borujerd Central Prison.
Karimizadeh had been imprisoned for three years on drug-related charges, while Farahnak was arrested five years ago on murder charges. Farhadi, who was a Lor, had also been convicted of drug-related offenses and sentenced to death.
None of these executions have been publicly announced by Iranian state media, including outlets affiliated with the judiciary.
