Femicide in Jahrom: Woman murdered by husband after requesting divorce

Fatemeh Sadeghi, a 39-year-old woman from Jahrom, Fars Province, was murdered by her husband, triggered by her request for a divorce.

According to information received by the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, the incident occurred on Wednesday, April 30, 2025. Her body was discovered in the restroom of a public park in Jahrom.

Sources familiar with the case have identified the perpetrator as Sadegh Ranjbar. He strangled the victim with a scarf and attempted to stage the scene as a suicide.

Sadeghi, who earned an income through baking cakes, was laid to rest on Friday, May 2, 2025, two days after her death.
