Government forces open fire, killing Baloch man in Hirmand

A 27-year-old Baloch man, Ali Mahmoudi (Sarani), was killed by direct gunfire from government forces in Hirmand County, located in Sistan and Baluchestan Province.

According to a report received by the Hengaw Human Rights Organization, on Tuesday, May 27, 2025, Mahmoudi, a resident of Dust Mohammad in Hirmand County, was fatally shot by border forces operating in the area.

Sources familiar with the incident stated that it occurred on Tuesday evening while Mahmoudi was in his agricultural field in the Makki region. Without any prior warning, he was targeted by direct gunfire from border guards. He sustained a gunshot wound to the head and died en route to the hospital.

Following the shooting, the forces fled the scene without providing medical assistance or attending to Mahmoudi’s condition.
