Iranian security forces violently arrest student Dasta Farrokhi in Arak

Iranian security forces violently arrested Dasta Farrokhi, a 20-year-old theatre student in the city of Arak, during a raid on her family home and transferred her to an undisclosed location.
According to information received by Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, agents of the Intelligence Department stormed Farrokhi’s family residence on Tuesday, March 10, 2026, without presenting a warrant. Witnesses reported that officers used physical violence during the arrest.
Hengaw has learned that security forces also searched the residence at the time of the arrest and confiscated several of Farrokhi’s personal belongings, including her laptop and mobile phone.
The reasons for her arrest, the charges against her, and her place of detention remain unknown.
Dasta Farrokhi had previously been arrested during the Woman, Life, Freedom (Jin, Jiyan, Azadi) movement due to her activities related to gender rights and equality advocacy, and had faced judicial prosecution in connection with those activities.
