Sharif University student Parnian Khodabakhshi held in limbo nearly four weeks after arrest

Nearly four weeks after the arrest of Parnian Khodabakhshi, a materials engineering student at Sharif University of Technology, no information has been released regarding her whereabouts or condition.

According to a report received by the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, security forces raided Khodabakhshi’s residence on Friday, February 27, 2026, and arrested her.

Khodabakhshi, who began her studies in 2023, has since been held in a state of complete uncertainty, with no contact or updates provided to her family.

At the time of her arrest, Telegram channels affiliated with Iranian security institutions, including one known as “Nakhsa,” claimed that she had been detained for allegedly bringing a “Lion and Sun” flag onto the university campus.
