Hengaw: Monday, May 5, 2025

The death sentences of two prisoners, Moslem Darvishipour and Mohammad Salamat, previously convicted of premeditated murder and drug-related charges, were carried out in Sepidar Prison in Ahvaz. Hengaw had earlier reported on the execution of a Baloch prisoner in the same facility.

According to a report received by the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, at dawn on Wednesday, April 30, 2025, Moslem Darvishipour, 25, a Lor man from Masjed Soleyman, Khuzestan province, and Mohammad Salamat, 29, an Arab man from Ahvaz, were executed in Sepidar Prison.

Moslem Darvishipour had been arrested four years ago on charges of premeditated murder, and Mohammad Salamat had been imprisoned for the past eight years on drug-related charges, both receiving death sentences from the judiciary.

Hengaw had earlier reported that another prisoner, Mohammad Nabi Zirkari—a 43-year-old Baloch man from Mirjaveh in Sistan and Baluchestan province—was also hanged on the same day. He had been convicted eight years ago on charges of murder and drug offenses.

To date, none of these executions have been announced by state media, particularly those affiliated with the judiciary.
