Five men arrested by security forces; Families kept in the dark

Five Sistanis from Zabol — identified as Reza Javadi, Younes Arbabi, Mohammadsayyad Arbabi, Sajjad Larijani, and Majid Arbabi — were arrested by security forces in the city of Bardaskan, Razavi Khorasan Province, three days ago. Their current whereabouts remain unknown.

According to information received by the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, the arrests took place on Wednesday, May 28, 2025. All five men are residents of Adimi, a district in Zabol, located in Sistan and Baluchestan Province. Among the detainees are Reza Javadi, 26 years old and father of one; Younes Arbabi, 27 and father of two; as well as Mohammadsayyad Arbabi, Sajjad Larijani, and Majid Arbabi.

The human rights platform Haalvsh reported that, the men were traveling in two vehicles from Zabol to Mashhad when they were stopped and detained by security forces in Bardaskan. The arrests occurred without the presentation of arrest warrants.

Despite repeated inquiries by their families, no information has been provided by authorities regarding the men’s legal status, the reason for their arrest, or their location. The charges remain unknown, and the families continue to be denied access to any details about the fate of these men.
