Three Arabs arrested in Khuzestan amid crackdown disguised as wartime security

Mohammad Shams, Reza Nowruzi, and Pouya Shams—three Arab men from the city of Masjed Soleyman in Khuzestan Province—have been arrested by agents of the Islamic Republic of Iran’s security forces and transferred to an undisclosed location.
According to information received by the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, the arrests were carried out on Saturday, June 28, 2025, by officers from the Ministry of Intelligence.
Sources informed Hengaw that the arrests were conducted with excessive use of force, and that the actual number of individuals detained may be higher than currently known.
Since their arrest, the three men have been held incommunicado. No information has been made available regarding the charges against them, their place of detention, or their current condition.
