Two death sentences carried out in Ghezel Hesar and Khorramabad prisons

Hengaw – Thursday, June 5, 2025
The Islamic Republic of Iran has carried out the death sentences of two prisoners — Shahmirza Rahmati, a Lor from Khorramabad, and Ali Kheradmand, a resident of Karaj — in separate prisons. Both prisoners had been convicted of “premeditated murder.”
According to information received by the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, Kheradmand, 31, was executed at dawn on Monday, June 2, 2025, in Ghezel Hesar Prison in Karaj. He was the father of one child.
An informed source reported that Kheradmand had been arrested four years earlier on murder charges and later sentenced to death by the Iranian judiciary.
One day prior, on Sunday, June 1, 2025, Rahmati, a Lor prisoner from Khorramabad, was executed in the city’s central prison. He had been imprisoned for six years on similar charges and was also sentenced to death by the judiciary of the Islamic Republic.
Hengaw previously confirmed the identities of eight other prisoners who were executed on the same day as Kheradmand — Monday, June 2, 2025 — at Ghezel Hesar Prison.
