Authorities carry out inhumane hand amputation punishment on two prisoners in Isfahan

The inhumane sentence of amputating the hands of two individuals accused of theft was carried out in Dastgerd Prison, Isfahan. The Head of the Judiciary in Isfahan Province confirmed the execution of the sentence without disclosing the identities of the defendants.
 
According to a report received by the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, the amputation sentence was carried out on two defendants, whose identities remain unknown, within Dastgerd Prison.
 
As reported by the state-run news agency ISNA, the sentence was implemented following the completion of judicial procedures, including investigation by the prosecutor’s office, the initial trial court, and the appellate court in Isfahan Province, with final approval from the Supreme Court of Iran.
