Shahmirza Rahmati and Mohammadamin Asadi executed in separate prisons

The death sentences of two prisoners, Shahmirza Rahmati and Mohammadamin Asadi, were carried out in the central prisons of Khorramabad and Isfahan. Rahmati had been convicted of premeditated murder, while Asadi was sentenced to death on charges of moharebeh (Waging war against God) through armed robbery.

According to information received by the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, Rahmati, a Lor from Khorramabad, was executed at dawn on Sunday, June 1, 2025, in Khorramabad Central Prison. He had been arrested for premeditated murder and later sentenced to death by the judiciary of the Islamic Republic of Iran.

Earlier, in the early hours of Wednesday, May 28, Asadi, a resident of Isfahan, was executed in Dastgerd Prison. He had been arrested five years earlier on charges of armed robbery and ultimately sentenced to death.

The executions of these two prisoners have not been reported by state media, including outlets affiliated with the Iranian judiciary.
