Five prisoners, including a woman, executed in prisons of Isfahan, Birjand, and Zanjan

Iranian authorities have executed five prisoners, including a woman identified as Soudabeh Ghasemzadeh, along with Ali Mobasher, Hossein Rezaei, Bahman Ejbari, and Kiomars Fatehi. They had been sentenced to death by the Iranian judiciary on charges of drug-related offenses and premeditated murder. The executions were carried out in the prisons of Isfahan, Birjand, and Zanjan.
According to information received by the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, three prisoners from Isfahan— Ghasemzadeh, 45, mother of three; Mobasher, a 43-year-old Lor man and father of one; and Rezaei, 45—were executed at dawn on Monday, August 11, 2025, in Isfahan Central Prison (Dastgerd).
The Iran Human Rights Organization reported that Ghasemzadeh had been in prison for six years on charges of murdering her husband. Mobasher had been detained for four years on drug-related charges, while Rezaei had been imprisoned for five years on similar charges.
On Sunday, August 10, the death sentence of Baloch prisoner Bahman Ejbari (Shibak), 36, from Zahedan and father of two, was carried out in Birjand Central Prison, South Khorasan Province. He had been detained for three years on charges of drug trafficking and sentenced to death. His execution was carried out without prior notice to his family and without granting a final visit.
That same day, Kiomars Fatehi, 33, a Turkish man from Zanjan and father of three, was executed in Zanjan Central Prison. He had been imprisoned for four years on drug-related charges before receiving the death sentence.
The executions had not been announced in state media, particularly outlets affiliated with the judiciary.
