Two prisoners, including a Lor, executed in Hamedan and Nahavand

The death sentences of two prisoners, including a Lor inmate, identified as Javad Esfandiari and Saber Akbari, were carried out in the prisons of Hamedan and Nahavand. Both had previously been sentenced to death by the Iranian judiciary on charges related to “drug offenses” and “premeditated murder.”
According to information received by the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, at dawn on Wednesday, August 13, 2025, the execution of Esfandiari was carried out in Hamedan Central Prison. He had been arrested on charges related to drug offenses and later sentenced to death.
Separately, at dawn on Monday, August 11, 2025, the execution of a Lor prisoner, Saber Akbari, from Nahavand, was carried out in the Central Prison of Nahavand, in Hamedan province. He had been arrested on charges of “premeditated murder” and sentenced to death by the Iranian judiciary.
The executions of these two prisoners have not been announced by state media, particularly outlets affiliated with the judiciary.
