Hengaw – Sunday, September 21, 2025

Teymour Khaledian, a Kurdish civil and environmental activist from Malayer in Iran’s Hamadan Province, was arrested on Sunday, September 21, 2025, to serve a prison sentence and transferred to Qorveh Prison.

Hengaw Organization for Human Rights has learned that Khaledian, 36, originally from Qorveh and residing in Malayer, was detained following a court hearing in Serishabad, Qorveh, on charges of “propaganda against the Islamic Republic.” He was then taken to Qorveh Prison to begin serving his sentence.

Khaledian was previously arrested during the nationwide protests of December 2019 and released on bail after 20 days. He was later sentenced by Branch 1 of the Malayer Revolutionary Court, presided over by Judge Behnam Rezavandi, to 20 months in prison and an additional three months suspended.

The activist was also detained in 2015 and 2016 for sending information about conditions at Malayer Prison to human rights media outlets.

In prior testimony, Khaledian revealed that he had been subjected to torture and sexual assault at Pasdaran Police Station No. 12 in Malayer. He stated that officers, acting on orders to treat him “worse than Kahrizak,” severely beat him in a group attack and then sexually assaulted him with a baton, causing serious physical injuries and prolonged suffering.
