Hengaw–Wednesday, September 3, 2025

The death sentences of two Lor prisoners, Mohammadreza Moridan and Mahan Rashidi, were carried out in recent days in Aligudarz Central Prison. Both had been convicted on separate charges of premeditated murder.

According to information received by the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, at dawn on Tuesday, September 2, 2025, Mahan Rashidi, 28, from Aligudarz, was executed in the city’s central prison. He had been arrested four years ago following a street altercation that resulted in a murder and was later sentenced to death by the Iranian judiciary.

Separately, on Tuesday, August 26, 2025, Mohammadreza Moridan, 39, from Dezful in Khuzestan Province, was executed in the same facility. He had been in detention for five years and had received a death sentence on murder charges.

Iranian state media, including judiciary-affiliated outlets, have not published any information on these executions.

Data compiled by the Statistics and Documentation Center of the Hengaw shows that, in the past month, at least 152 prisoners were executed across Iranian prisons, including 22 Lor prisoners.
