Hengaw – Monday, September 22, 2025

Parvish Moslemi, a 46-year-old political prisoner held in Qarchak Varamin Prison, is in critical condition as prison authorities deliberately block her transfer to hospital and deny her access to vital medical treatment. She, along with several other female political prisoners, was transferred from Evin Prison to Qarchak Varamin following the Iran–Israel war.

According to information received by the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, Moslemi suffers from multiple illnesses, including bladder and breast cancer, two types of pituitary gland tumors, tracheal failure, severe hypothyroidism, and suspected uterine cancer. The lack of adequate care has also caused severe vision impairment.

Despite her deteriorating condition, Qarchak Varamin authorities have refused to transfer her to specialized hospitals. Prison doctors at Evin had recommended her transfer at least six times to Farabi Hospital for a lymph node biopsy, but authorities ignored all urgent referrals.

Moslemi was first arrested in September 2023 during the anniversary of Jina Amini’s state killing and released on bail after a month. She was detained again in April 2024 in Nour, Mazandaran Province, and released three days later. On July 7, 2024, she was summoned to the Evin Prosecutor’s Office, arrested, and transferred to the women’s ward of Evin Prison. She openly rejected the legitimacy of the Revolutionary Court and refused to attend her hearings.

In August 2024, the Tehran Revolutionary Court sentenced her to two years in prison for “assembly and collusion,” one year for “insulting the Supreme Leader,” and eight months for “propaganda against the state.”
