Hengaw – Tuesday, September 23, 2025
Hoda Mehreganfar, a political prisoner from Zarghan in Fars Province who faces accusations of “membership in and support for the People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI/MEK),” has spent nearly 11 months in Adelabad Prison in Shiraz without trial or clarification of her legal status.
According to reports obtained by Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, Mehreganfar, 38, an electronics engineer from Zarghan, has been held at Adelabad since her arrest, with no judicial review of her case.
Sources said Iranian security agencies have accused her of links to the PMOI/MEK and have not allowed her release on bail.
Before her detention, Mehreganfar underwent gynecological surgery and has reportedly been denied medical care while held by IRGC Intelligence and at Adelabad Prison.
She and her father, Mohammad Ali Mehreganfar, a former political prisoner during the 1980s, were arrested by IRGC Intelligence agents in Zarghan on October 22, 2024. After 63 days in custody, they were transferred to Adelabad Prison in Shiraz.
