Three prisoners, including an Afghan national, executed in Iranian prisons

The death sentences of three prisoners — Mohammad Beqlani, Mojtaba Mahdavi, and an Afghan national identified only by the surname Ahmadi — were carried out in Borazjan and Taybad prisons. They had been sentenced to death on charges of “premeditated murder” or “drug-related offenses.”
According to information received by the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, at dawn on Sunday, September 21, 2025, the death sentence of Mohammad Beqlani, convicted on murder charges, was carried out in Borazjan Central Prison, Bushehr Province.
On the same day, the death sentences of Mojtaba Mahdavi and the Afghan national Ahmadi were carried out in Taybad Central Prison, Razavi Khorasan Province. Both were arrested on drug-related charges and later sentenced to death by the Iranian judiciary.
None of these executions have been acknowledged by Iranian state media, including judiciary-affiliated outlets.
