Three prisoners, including an Afghan national, executed in Yazd

Iranian authorities have executed three prisoners in Yazd Central Prison, including an Afghan national. The men had previously been sentenced to death in separate cases involving charges of “drug-related offenses” and “premeditated murder.”

According to information received by Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, the executions of Reza Nazif, a 28-year-old from Ardakan, Noor Jalal Mojahed, a 27-year-old Afghan national from Qala-e-Naw District in Afghanistan, and Esfandiar Sadri, 50, were carried out in the early hours of Wednesday, June 17, 2026, at Yazd Central Prison.

Nazif and Mojahed had been arrested in separate cases two years earlier on charges related to “drug-related offenses” and were subsequently sentenced to death. Sadri had been arrested six years ago on charges of “premeditated murder” and was also sentenced to death.

The executions have not been announced by Iranian state media or official Judiciary-affiliated outlets and were carried out in complete silence.
