Iran executes 14 prisoners, including Afghan nationals across six facilities

The Iranian judiciary executed 14 prisoners, including three Afghan nationals and three Gilak men, across facilities in Ahvaz, Arak, Gorgan, Taybad, Yazd, and Shiraz on charges of “premeditated murder” and drug-related offences, based on information received by Hengaw Organization for Human Rights,

Amrollah Sajjadi, 27, and Nasser Ayvazi, 31, both from Bandar Abbas, were executed at dawn at Sepidar Prison in Ahvaz on Sunday, February 8, 2026. Authorities had arrested the two men nearly three years earlier in connection with a joint case stemming from a street altercation in Ahvaz and later sentenced them to death on charges of premeditated murder.

Rahman Najafi, from Saveh, was executed the same day at Arak Central Prison after being held for approximately two years on drug-related charges.

Ali Mirdar, 32, from Gonbad-e Kavus, was executed at dawn at Gorgan Central Prison on Saturday, February 7, 2026. Authorities had arrested him around three years earlier following a violent altercation and later sentenced him to death on murder charges.

Nasser Shahmoradi, 43, from Gorgan and the father of two, and Ahmad Borhani, 29, were executed at Gorgan Central Prison at dawn on Tuesday, February 3, 2026. Shahmoradi had been imprisoned for approximately six years on murder charges, while Borhani had been detained for three years following a fatal street altercation.

Morad Azizi, from Taybad, and Karim Nazari, an Afghan national from Herat, were executed at dawn at Taybad Prison on Thursday, January 29, 2026. Authorities had sentenced both men to death on drug-related charges after holding them for approximately three and two years, respectively.

Kaveh Hosseinzadeh, 32, from Yazd and the father of one child, was executed at dawn at Yazd Central Prison on Wednesday, January 28, 2026, after being sentenced to death two years earlier on drug-related charges.

Saifuddin Mehraban, 23, and Nameq Kasravi, 25, both Afghan nationals from Baghlan Province, along with three Gilak men, Saeed Amjadi, 35, from Rasht, Rahim Mirzazadeh, from the village of Beshman near Bandar-e Anzali, and Ebrahim Abbasi, 53, from Rasht and the father of four, were executed at dawn at Shiraz Central Prison (Adelabad) on Wednesday, January 28, 2026. Mehraban and Kasravi had been detained for approximately two years on charges of premeditated murder, while Amjadi, Mirzazadeh, and Abbasi had been held for three years, four years, and approximately one year and five months, respectively, on drug-related charges.
