Kurdish volunteer Rebin Gorani dies from injuries sustained in Marivan wildfire

Rebin Gorani, a volunteer who joined efforts to extinguish wildfires in Marivan, has died from injuries sustained during the operation. He passed away at Towhid Hospital in Sanandaj (Sine) after spending ten days in a coma caused by severe damage to his lungs and respiratory tract.
According to information obtained by Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, Gorani, a young man from Sawa village in Marivan, died on Friday, September 5. His health had deteriorated on August 26, when he fell into a coma.
Gorani had first sought medical attention shortly after returning from the fire zone, but his admission was delayed. He was hospitalized three days later after his condition worsened with severe nausea and dizziness.
He sustained the injuries in late August while volunteering to contain wildfires in the rangelands of Haneshikhan, Banawachleh, and Darawran in Marivan.
