Authorities execute Mehdi Raoufi in Ghezel Hesar and Alimorad Naseri in Semnan

Authorities have executed two prisoners, Mehdi Raoufi and Alimorad Naseri, in Ghezel Hesar Prison in Karaj and Semnan Central Prison. Both men had been convicted on drug-related charges.

According to information obtained by Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, Raoufi was executed at dawn on Thursday, August 28, 2025, in Ghezel Hesar Prison. He had been arrested on drug-related charges and later sentenced to death.

Two days earlier, at dawn on Tuesday, August 26, 2025, Naseri, a Lor from Khorramabad, was executed in Semnan Central Prison. He had been arrested six years earlier and sentenced to death by the Iranian judiciary.

State media, including judiciary-affiliated outlets, have not published news of these executions.
