Mohammad Sohrabi held for 237 days without charge in Naqadeh Central Prison

Mohammad Sohrabi, a Kurdish man from Piranshahr and one of those arrested during the Woman, Life, Freedom (Jin, Jiyan, Azadi) movement, has been held in Naqadeh Central Prison for 237 days without formal charges and has so far been denied temporary release.
According to information received by Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, despite the passage of 237 days since his arrest, Sohrabi, 32 years old and the father of a four-year-old child, remains in custody at Naqadeh Central Prison without any evidence being presented or hearings held on the allegations against him. His trial has been repeatedly postponed by the relevant authorities.
Sohrabi was arrested at his workplace on Monday, January 20, 2025, and shortly afterward security forces searched his home.
Following interrogation on unspecified charges, he was transferred to Naqadeh Central Prison, where he remains without access to temporary release.
Mohammad Sohrabi, who was also detained during the Woman, Life, Freedom movement, had previously been sentenced by the Iranian judiciary to 16 months in prison and one year of internal exile.
