Hengaw – Thursday, September 18, 2025

Five Kurdish residents of Saqqez, Nariman Randani, Zakaria Moradi, Omid Rahimzadeh, Mahdi Kamali and Mohammad Aminpour, remain in detention at the Sanandaj (Sine) Intelligence facility after being arrested last month. They continue to be held in unclear conditions, raising concern for their well-being.

Information obtained by Hengaw Organization for Human Rights shows that Randani has been detained for 30 days, while Moradi, Rahimzadeh, Kamali and Aminpour have been held for 45 days without charge or trial.

Sources familiar with the case said the five men have been denied basic rights during this period, including phone contact with their families and in-person visits.

Relatives of Randani, Moradi, Rahimzadeh, Kamali and Aminpour have repeatedly gone to the Sanandaj Intelligence Office seeking information, but officials have not provided any response.

Randani was arrested in Saqqez by Intelligence agents at 6 a.m. on Tuesday, August 19, 2025. He had previously been detained by the same agency on April 8, 2025, and released on bail on May 11 pending judicial proceedings.

Earlier, on Monday, August 4, 2025, Moradi, Rahimzadeh, Kamali and Aminpour were arrested in Saqqez by security forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran.

At the time of reporting, authorities had not disclosed the reasons for the arrests or the charges brought against the five Kurdish residents.
