Prisoner dies in Yazd prison after being denied medical care

Mohammad Mangali, a prisoner at Yazd Central Prison, has died after authorities failed to provide adequate medical treatment.

Hengaw Organization for Human Rights reports that Mangali, who was serving a sentence for financial offences, died on Friday, September 19, 2025, inside Yazd Central Prison after being denied necessary care.

According to sources, Mangali was taken to the prison infirmary with symptoms of shortness of breath. The attending doctor reportedly accused him of feigning illness, and the absence of proper treatment led to his death.
