Hengaw – Monday, October 27, 2025

The number of prisoners executed in Lakan Prison in Rasht has risen to four following the identification of two individuals, Siamak Khadem, a Gilak man from Lahijan, and Hamed Hanifeh, a Turk man from Abyek in Qazvin Province, whose death sentences were carried out in recent days. The identities of two other prisoners, Amir Nazari and Meysam Bagheri, had been confirmed earlier.

According to information obtained by Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, Khadem and Hanifeh were executed at dawn on Saturday, October 25, 2025, in Lakan Prison. Both had been arrested seven years earlier in a joint case on charges related to “drug offenses” and later sentenced to death by the Iranian judiciary.

Hengaw had previously reported the execution of two other prisoners, Nazari and Bagheri, both 34 years old and residents of Karaj, on the same day in the same facility. Nazari had been convicted on “drug-related charges,” while Bagheri had been arrested six years ago on similar charges before being sentenced to death.

The executions have not been reported by state media, particularly outlets affiliated with Iran’s judiciary.
