Eleven prisoners executed across eight prisons in Iran

Iranian authorities have executed at least eleven prisoners in recent days across eight prisons in Baft, Gonbad, Ghezel Hesar, Sari, Yazd, Yasuj, Hamedan, and Shiraz. The individuals, identified as Hossein Ekhlaspour, Mohammad Toghdari, Zakaria Mohammad Khanlou, Karim Nazemi, Sajad Norouzi, Ashkan Partouyan, Saeed Arabiyan, Fereydoun Lotfi, Mehdi Moradi, Alireza Alimoradi, and one individual with the surname Dehghani (first name unknown), had been convicted on charges of “premeditated murder” and “drug-related offences.”
According to information obtained by Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, Hossein Ekhlaspour, aged 30 and from Baft, was executed at dawn in Baft Prison, Kerman Province, on Wednesday, October 29, 2025. Ekhlaspour had been arrested several years earlier on murder charges and later sentenced to death.
On the same day, Mohammad Toghdari, a Turkmen man from the village of Chay Qushan Bozorg in Gonbad County, Golestan Province, was executed in Gonbad Prison after being convicted of murder. Zakaria Mohammad Khanlou, aged 39 and from Tehranpars, was also hanged that day in Ghezel Hesar Prison in Karaj on similar charges.
The executions of three other prisoners, Karim Nazemi aged 45 and from Qaemshahr, Ashkan Partouyan aged 33 and from Sari, and Sajad Norouzi, were carried out in Sari Central Prison on Tuesday, October 28, 2025. All three had been sentenced to death for murder. Nazemi, imprisoned for seven years, had twice been transferred to solitary confinement for execution but was returned to his ward each time after receiving a temporary reprieve from the victim’s family.
In Yazd Central Prison, Saeed Arabiyan, aged 30, was executed on Monday, October 27, 2025, after being sentenced to death three years earlier on drug-related charges. On the same day, Fereydoun Lotfi, a 51-year-old Lor man from Yasuj, was also executed in Yasuj Central Prison. Lotfi had been arrested six years earlier on murder charges following a dispute over farmland irrigation during which a hunting rifle was used.
Two Turk prisoners from Kabudarahang in Hamedan Province, Mehdi Moradi aged 42 and his son-in-law Alireza Alimoradi aged 25, were executed in Hamedan Central Prison on Sunday, October 26, 2025. They had been detained around three years earlier on charges of murder committed in the context of family and so-called “honour-related” disputes. On the same day, another prisoner identified by the surname Dehghani (first name unknown) was executed in Adelabad Prison in Shiraz after being convicted of murder.
The executions of these eleven prisoners have not been announced by Iranian state media, including outlets affiliated with the judiciary. Only one of the cases has been publicly reported.
