Christian convert Kourosh Hosseini detained to serve prison sentence

Christian convert Kourosh (Teimour) Hosseini, an Afghan national residing in the city of Karaj in Alborz Province, has been detained to begin serving his two-year prison sentence and transferred to Ghezel Hesar Prison in Karaj.
Based on information obtained by Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, Hosseini, 52, a father of two from Karaj, was detained on Sunday, November 23, 2025, for the enforcement of his sentence and transferred to Ghezel Hesar Prison in the city.
Hosseini was sentenced to two years in prison on July 2, 2024, by Branch Two of the Shahriar Revolutionary Court on the charge of “forming and membership in a group with the aim of disrupting national security.”
This Christian convert, who is an Afghan citizen and has lived in Iran for 20 years, was first arrested on December 11, 2023, and released in February 2024 on temporary bail of two billion tomans pending the completion of judicial proceedings.
