Lack of information persists on the detention of Pouya Habibi in Sanandaj

Pouya Habibi, an environmental activist from Sanandaj (Sine) and a member of the Kurdistan Green Society, was arrested around three weeks ago.

According to information received by the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, despite 20 days having passed since his arrest, Habibi’s situation remains unknown.

Repeated efforts by his family to obtain information about his condition have been unsuccessful, as government institutions have refused to provide any clarification.

Habibi was arrested on Tuesday, November 4, 2025, by security forces at his workplace in Sanandaj.
