Mohammad Sohrabi, a Kurdish man from Piranshahr who was arrested during the “Woman, Life, Freedom” (Jin, Jiyan, Azadi) uprising, has entered his eleventh month of detention in Naqadeh Prison. Despite bail being posted multiple times, his temporary release continues to be obstructed by Iran’s Ministry of Intelligence, according to sources.

Information received by the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights confirms that Sohrabi — 32 years old and the father of a four-year-old child — has now spent 310 days in detention without being granted temporary release.

A source close to the family told Hengaw that although the bail required for his provisional release has been posted several times, the process has been repeatedly halted due to direct interference and objections from the Ministry of Intelligence.

In the most recent attempt, made last week, Sohrabi’s father again submitted the required bail to the judicial authorities. However, the Ministry of Intelligence blocked the procedure, preventing his release.

Sohrabi was arrested on Monday, January 20, 2025, at his workplace in Piranshahr. Shortly afterward, security forces raided and searched his home.

Following a period of interrogations on unspecified charges, he was transferred to Naqadeh Central Prison, where he has now been held for 10 months and 4 days.

Sohrabi had previously been arrested during the Woman, Life, Freedom uprising and sentenced by the judiciary to 16 months in prison and one year of internal exile.
