Hengaw – Sunday, November 2, 2025
Qanbar Keshavarz, a Baloch civilian from Hormozgan Province, was shot dead by Iranian police while driving his private vehicle on the Sarzeh–Rudan road in southern Iran.
According to information received by the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, Iranian police forces opened fire on Keshavarz as he was driving his personal vehicle on Wednesday, October 29, 2025.
Sources told Hengaw that Keshavarz was targeted without prior warning by officers of the Islamic Republic of Iran’s police force.
Following the incident, the victim’s family released a video describing the killing as a “premeditated murder.” They stated that Keshavarz was shot in the head and that the police officers immediately fled the scene after the shooting.
In response to the family’s video, the Hormozgan Police Department issued a brief statement claiming that “tactical unit officers suspected a vehicle of unloading fabric and opened fire, resulting in the driver’s death,” without providing further details.
