Iranian security forces re-arrest Amjad Salehzadeh, Kurdish man from Saqqez

Amjad Salehzadeh, a Kurdish man from Saqqez, has been re-arrested by Iranian security forces and transferred to an undisclosed location. His re-arrest comes five months after his release from prison, where he had spent 125 days in detention.

According to information received by the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, on Sunday, November 2, 2025, agents of the Ministry of Intelligence arrested the 38-year-old at his mobile phone shop in Saqqez.

Previously, on January 21, 2025, Salehzadeh had been violently arrested by Intelligence agents. After spending four months and three days in detention, he was temporarily released from Saqqez Prison on May 24, 2025.

In April 2024, the First Branch of the Saqqez Revolutionary Court, presided over by Judge Javad Mostafaei, sentenced him to three months in prison on charges of “propaganda against the Islamic Republic of Iran.”

Earlier, on March 16, 2023, Salehzadeh had also been summoned and detained by the Saqqez Intelligence Office. He was released a day later on temporary bail pending trial.
