Hengaw – Wednesday, December 24, 2025

Iran has executed 12 prisoners, including an Afghan national, in separate prisons across Karaj, Rasht, Bushehr, Shahr-e Kord, Sabzevar, Kashmar, Malayer, and Shiraz. All had previously been sentenced to death by the Iranian judiciary on charges of murder or drug-related offenses.

According to information received by the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, the death sentences of Masoud Moradi, Yaghoob Masoumi, Mohammad-Mehdi Adavi (from Varamin, Tehran Province), and Ebrahim Alizadeh — all convicted of murder — were carried out at dawn on Wednesday, December 24, 2025, in Ghezel Hesar Prison in Karaj.

On the same day, four other prisoners were executed in the prisons of Rasht, Bushehr, Shahr-e Kord, and Sabzevar. They have been identified as Mehdi Rajabali Zadeh, a 23-year-old Gilak man from the village of Hajibekandeh near Rasht; Nouraddin Panahi from Bushehr; Mohammad Nourian from Shahr-e Kord; and Khodakaram Safapour from Sabzevar. Rajabali Zadeh had been imprisoned for three years on murder charges related to a group altercation, while the other three men had been convicted on similar charges.

Also on the same day, two prisoners convicted on drug-related charges — Nemat Khosravi and Noushad Kazemian — were executed in Kashmar and Malayer prisons.

Continuing the wave of executions, two additional prisoners, identified as Nazir (an Afghan national, surname unknown) and Ayoub Dehqani, both convicted on drug-related charges, were executed in Adelabad Prison in Shiraz.

None of these executions have been reported by Iranian state media, particularly outlets affiliated with the judiciary.
