Hassan Shadab arrested in Oshnavieh to begin prison term

Hassan Shadab, a Kurdish resident of Oshnavieh (Shno), has been arrested to serve a three-year prison sentence and transferred to the city’s central prison.

Information received by Hengaw Organization for Human Rights indicates that Shadab was arrested on Saturday, December 27, 2025, and transferred to Oshnavieh Central Prison to begin serving his sentence.

He was previously sentenced to three years in prison by the Revolutionary Court in Oshnavieh on charges including “cooperation with the Democratic Party of Iranian Kurdistan” and “propaganda against the Islamic Republic of Iran.”

Shadab was arrested at his home on July 7, 2025, and was later released temporarily on bail from Oshnavieh Central Prison on August 17, 2025, pending the completion of judicial proceedings.
