Murad Karimi-Galeh and Nowruz Khalafi executed in Shushtar Prison

The death sentences of two Arab prisoners, Murad Karimi-Galeh and Nowruz Khalafi (Nowruzi Khalafi), previously convicted on murder charges, have been carried out in Shushtar Prison in Khuzestan Province.

According to information received by the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, the executions were carried out at dawn on Thursday, December 25, 2025, in Shushtar Prison.

Sources informed Hengaw that both prisoners had been arrested in separate murder cases and later sentenced to death by the judiciary of the Islamic Republic of Iran.

Iranian state media, including outlets affiliated with the judiciary, have not reported these executions.
