Kurdish photographer and civil activist Omid Bagheri arrested in Kermanshah

Iranian government forces have arrested Omid Bagheri, a Kurdish photographer and civil activist from Shahabad (Islamabad-e Gharb), while he was travelling in Kermanshah (Kermashan) Province.

According to information received by Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, Bagheri, 37, was detained on Sunday, December 14, 2025, while en route from Kermanshah to Paveh.

A source familiar with the case told Hengaw that Bagheri was stopped at a temporary checkpoint along the route and subsequently taken into custody.

No information has been made available regarding the reasons for his arrest, his place of detention, or his current condition.
