Three Kurdish men arrested by IRGC Intelligence during raids in Urmia

Three Kurdish men from Urmia, Ayvaz Behnamoun, Shaban Ahmadoush and his brother Ebrahim Ahmadoush, have been arrested by forces of the Intelligence Organization of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) after security forces surrounded their village and raided their homes.
According to information obtained by the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, IRGC Intelligence forces arrested the three men in the village of Kachaleh, Urmia, in the early hours of August 16, 2026. The arrests were carried out with the use of force and without the presentation of warrants.
Sources familiar with the case said a large number of security forces surrounded Kachaleh before raiding the family homes of the three men and arresting them.
No information is available regarding the reasons for their arrests, the charges against them or their place of detention. Efforts by their families to obtain information about their whereabouts and condition have so far been unsuccessful.
