Hengaw – Tuesday, December 16, 2025

Iranian intelligence agents have arrested two Kurdish men in the city of Bukan and transferred them to an undisclosed location.

According to information obtained by Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, Ebrahim Mardani, 47, a resident of Bukan, and Rasoul Yadiyar, 30, from the village of Nachit in Bukan County, were arrested on the evening of Tuesday, December 16, 2025.

Yadiyar was detained at around 6:00 p.m. at his workplace without the presentation of an arrest warrant and without being formally informed of the charges against him.

Mardani was arrested separately during a raid on his home, during which security forces reportedly used intimidation and force.

Mardani had previously been arrested on May 3, 2025, after guests at his son’s wedding ceremony were seen wearing jamaneh and traditional Kurdish khaki clothing. He was later sentenced, along with 57 others, by the Piranshahr Revolutionary Court to three months in prison—a sentence that was subsequently commuted to a fine of 240 million rials (24 million tomans) per person.

No information has been released regarding the reasons for the latest arrests, any charges against the two men, their place of detention, or their current condition.
