Kermanshah: Pregnant woman expecting twins killed by husband in act of Femicide

A pregnant woman from Kuzaran, a city in Kermanshah Province, has been brutally murdered by her husband using a firearm. The victim, Farzaneh Moradi, and her unborn twins were killed because one of the fetuses was a girl.

According to a report received by the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, on Wednesday, March 26, 2025, 30-year-old Farzaneh Moradi, a resident of Kuzaran and the mother of two daughters aged 5 and 8, was shot and killed with a handgun by her husband, identified as Pedram Safaei.

Sources close to the family stated that Moradi was pregnant with twins—one boy and one girl—and had been subjected to abuse by her husband due to the gender of one of the fetuses. The violence escalated into a fatal attack.

Following the murder, the perpetrator fled the scene, but was later turned in to the police by relatives. He is currently in custody.
