Hengaw verifies identities of five more people killed during Tehran protests

Hengaw has confirmed the identities of five additional individuals who were killed during the recent protests in Tehran.
They have been identified as Saeed Shirali, Alireza Salmani, Babak Sadeghi Mohseni, Ali Molaaqaei Rouzbehani, a Lor individual, and Ali Janani, a Turk individual.
According to information received by the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, Ali Janani, 20, a resident of Eslamshahr; Saeed Shirali, 22; Alireza Salmani, 27; Babak Sadeghi Mohseni, 30; and Ali Molaaqaei Rouzbehani, 36, a resident of Tehran, were killed after being shot by Iranian government forces on the evening of Thursday, January 8, 2026, in Tehran.
Informed sources report that over a week after his killing, authorities have returned only the clothing and personal belongings of Saeed Shirali to his family, while his body is still being withheld by security institutions.
Sources said the body of Ali Molaaqaei Rouzbehani was quickly removed and buried the same night, after hospital staff warned the family and before government forces reached the hospital.
In addition, informed sources confirmed that the body of Ali Janani was buried on Monday, January 12, 2026.
