Seven university students arrested amid ongoing cracdown

Iranian government forces have arrested seven students in the cities of Damghan, Oshnavieh (Shno), Isfahan, and Tabriz, according to information received by the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights.
No reliable information is available regarding their whereabouts or legal status.

Details by location are as follows:

Damghan

Hemmat Karimi, a 38-year-old Kurdish resident of Marivan and a cinema student at Damghan University, was arrested in recent days by government forces and transferred to an undisclosed location.

Oshnavieh (Shno)

Hazhar Ebrahimi, a 23-year-old Kurdish student, was arrested by Intelligence Department forces on the evening of February 13, 2026, and taken to an undisclosed location.

Isfahan

Amirreza Heydari, a 19-year-old student at Khorasgan University, was arrested on February 10, 2026, after plainclothes agents raided his family home in Isfahan.

Tabriz

Sahand Abbasnia, a student of art and a previously detained during the Woman, Life, Freedom movement, was arrested on January 22, 2026, during a raid by governement forces on his home. He had also been briefly detained earlier on January 9, 2026, while on his way to his workplace and released after three days.

In addition, three student activists at Tabriz University of Medical Sciences — Ali Parvin, a pharmacy student and secretary of the political committee of the Islamic Students Association; Mohammadamin Soltanzadeh, a medical student and former public relations officer of the association; and Mohammad Asadi, a medical student and Student Syndicate Committee of the Islamic Association 
secretary — were arrested on February 16, 2026.
