Kurdish environmental activist Hadi Rabouseh arrested in Marivan, whereabouts unknown

Hadi Rabouseh, a Kurdish environmental activist from Marivan, has been arrested by Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) Intelligence forces and taken to an undisclosed location.

According to information obtained by the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, Rabouseh was arrested on August 20, 2026, when IRGC Intelligence forces raided his family home in Marivan without presenting a warrant.

Rabouseh had previously been injured while helping contain wildfires in the Zagros forests.

Despite repeated inquiries by his family with security and judicial authorities regarding his whereabouts and condition, the authorities have provided no information about his situation.
