At least eight Kurds arrested in Oshnavieh and Kermanshah, fate unknown

Seven Kurds from Oshnavieh (Shno) identified as Soleiman Bayezidi, Hassan Sabouri, Hezhar Bariki, Kamal Shakak, Ayoub Shakak, Omar Payemard, and Sardar Yaro, and another from Kermanshah (Kermashan), Erfan Javidan, have been arrested by government forces.Their fates and whereabouts remain unknown.
According to information obtained by the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, Omar Payemard and Sardar Yaro were arrested on Wednesday, January 21, 2026, in Oshnavieh.
Earlier, Soleiman Bayezidi, from Singan village; Hassan Sabouri, from Sheikhan; Kamal Shakak and Ayoub Shakak, from Nalous; and Hezhar Bariki, a resident of Oshnavieh city, were arrested during coordinated operations by government forces on Sunday, January 18. Sources reported that Soleiman Bayezidi’s arrest was carried out with violence and physical force.
In Kermanshah, Erfan Javidan, 27, from the Karnachi neighborhood, was arrested on Thursday, January 15, during a raid conducted by government forces.
All eight individuals were transferred to undisclosed locations following their arrests, and no official information has been released regarding their condition, charges, or place of detention, heightening fears of ill-treatment, and denial of legal rights.
