Holako Eivani shot dead by Iranian forces in Islamabad-e Gharb

Holako Eivani, a Kurdish athlete from Islamabad-e Gharb (Shabad), was killed by direct gunfire from Iranian government forces during public protests in the city.
According to information obtained by the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, Eivani was shot dead by government forces in Momtaz Alley, located on Keshavarz Street in Islamabad-e Gharb, on Thursday, January 8, 2026.
Hengaw had previously published a special report on the protests that took place on the night of January 8 in Islamabad-e Gharb, describing intense clashes between protesters and government forces. That report noted that at least one individual had been killed by direct gunfire and that several others were injured.
Following further investigation, Hengaw has confirmed that the person killed during those protests was Holako Eivani.
According to available information, during the same clashes, at least three members of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) were also killed.
